Specialist Treatment

Treating each patient while respecting their privacy and dignity.

Diabetic Foot Screening

If you have diabetes it is important that you have your feet checked by a Podiatrist on a regular basis. Patients with Diabetes should undergo Diabetic Foot Screening at least once a year, so that any complications of the diabetic foot can be picked up on as soon as possible.
Julie will be able to treat any routine foot problems which may have developed. She can give advice on the best foot care and footwear for the diabetic foot. If you are a Diabetic patient with any problems or complications of the foot, you will be given a priority appointment to receive treatment same day.

Nail Surgery
If an in-growing toenail problem persists despite routine podiatry treatment, Nail Surgery may be advised. This simple procedure involves Local Anaesthetic, tourniquet, removal of offending nail section, then phenolisation to stop any re-growth. The results are excellent.
Post operatively patients are delighted that a reoccurring problem is resolved one and for all.

Local Anaesthetic
I am trained to give Local Anaesthetics, to be utilised as and when required dealing with various painful conditions. Particularly when carrying out Nail Surgery.

Biomechanics and Gait Analysis
I am also trained to assess patients gait and diagnose the appropriate treatment to improve a patient’s gait cycle, which can involve the manufacture and provision of inlays/orthotics. Inlays/orthotics can provide comfort to a foot with injury and may also support the foot as necessary reducing pronation, encouraging a more economical gait cycle.

Home Visit / Domicillary Visit
I also offer home visits to patients across the whole of the Wirral area, I attend with all the necessary equipment to offer each individual patient the best possible treatment.

Nursing / Residential Care Home visits
I am happy to offer an extensive podiatry / chiropody service to both Nursing and Residential Homes. Both Mark and myself provide regular visits offering routine podiatry / chiropody foot care for all residents.

Ensuring the patients feet are kept in the best possible state of care and comfort, treating each individual patient while respecting their privacy and dignity.
